12th Annual Walk For Awareness

About The Event
If there was ever a time for us to come together for some good times, laughter, and love, it’s now. We have two options available to participate. A virtual walk, so that you can walk wherever you want, or, you can still choose to join the physical event in Brisbane which will be smaller and socially distanced (entry limits apply).
The morning will be live-streamed to the nation, beginning with an inspiring opening ceremony, where we remember those lost to depression and mental illness and honour those continuing the battle. We will have a quick warm-up and stretch, then we encourage walkers to take off on a 9km walk in your local area or at your nominated start time at the physical event. Within the registration process for the physical event, you will be asked to nominate a starting group to assist us with maintaining adequate space for social distancing.
We encourage you to participate in this event anywhere in Australia and take on the walk in your area. Where possible, include some iconic local areas and share photos with the rest of the Walk for Awareness community, showing the amazing impact you’ve just made in the quest to raise awareness of depression and mental illness.
Walk for Awareness is an event that involves bringing people together in a friendly and safe environment where issues of mental health can be discussed openly with friends, family, and supportive strangers. We believe the matters surrounding suicide should be discussed, not hidden.

How it works
Gather your friends and register for this years Walk for Awareness! There are 2 ways to register – Physical & Virtual. Come down and join the Physical event on the day or register to participate in the Virtual event. In the Virtual event, you get to walk in your local area and can choose your own course and distance!
Once you have registered, update and share your Fundraising page.
Share it with your social networks, friends, family and work mates.
Get active and start spreading the word about Mental Health Awareness and why you are walking.
On the day, gather your team and join us either physically or virtually.
There will be a Live Stream throughout the entire event online so you can watch and feel a part of the event on the day from your local area. Or join us in person in the heart of Brisbane to raise awareness for Mental Health.
